ERV Therapy Unit X
Artist: Wendy Wobeser
The work examines the influence of poverty both financial and intellectual in one's ability to access novel therapies.

The global response to the Ebola outbreak in west Africa was an influence and helped to crystallize the pressures of medical urgencies when a number of lives are imminently at stake.

Endogenous Retroviruses
Artist: Wendy Wobeser
Wood, wool and copper sculpture. Retroviruses are represented by copper wires covering a wool core representing the intricate structure necessary for integrating with the host genome.

The major artistic influence of this work is Joseph Beuys whose interest was in the conducting properties of copper and insulating properties of wool thread.

This piece reflects on the therapeutic balance in medicine, which also requires a finely woven interplay between conduction and insulation
